It’s funny how often things stay the same in information technology just due to inertia. Yet the overall pace of change has been relentless.
If the change is of no significance/tangible benefit, why change?
Or in layman’s terms, why fix what ain’t broke
It doesn’t mean “never improve”, though.
I’m personally of the opinion that we should always upgrade if the improvement is significant and the improvement actually gains us something beneficial.
Sometimes even a significant improvement doesn’t necessarily net you a real tangible gain. But often it does!
It’s a good algorithm.
