I thought it was deep-fried hampsters.

I see now it’s a dog crate that lets them piss inside without getting wet

Guinea pigs for me, but really crunchy.

In the Andes you could actually get some crunchy deep fried guinea pig

Can’t be that comfy for the wee ones though.

Starting with “apricot” makes this a wilder ride. Had me thinking of fried apricot for a moment.

Exactly. Took me a few seconds to realize these weren’t some oddly named pastry.

Honestly that looks like some fire fried chicken.

You need to let the oil drain before you eat them. There’s nothing odd about this.

At that age they’re just like soft shell crabs.

+1 for the universal epicurean.

The grate is because they’re going to pee and poop where they’re laying. Having it fall down means they’re not rolling around in it.

It’s not a safe way to keep puppies, especially young ones, long term, though. It can cause injuries if paws or claws get stuck, and it makes it really difficult for puppies to maintain their body temperature.

Also needlessly uncomfortable for them…

Looks a bit like the conditions for one of Harlow’s experiments…

First dino-shaped now this one. Why are they not chicken-shaped?

didn’t read the text first, thought they were some really weird looking fried chickins
